For years, Harvest has been a cornerstone of the McKinney dining scene, renowned for its farm-to-table cuisine and commitment to sourcing ingredients sustainably from nearby farmers — now it’s Michelin-recommended

"We are honored to be recognized as part of the inaugural Texas Michelin Guide 2024," Harvest Owner Rick Wells told Local Profile. "This is a testament to our team’s commitment to sustainable food practices, as well as hospitality. Hats off to chef Andrea Shackelford, General Manager Sanam Zahir and the entire harvest team and their commitment to intentional sourcing and thoughtful investment, helping create a strong local network of farmers, ranchers, artists and artisans to grow a movement to leave the world better than we found it."

In 2023, the farm-to-table restaurant moved from its old Louisiana Street location to a 19th-century, three-story building that previously housed a Masonic lodge. But they are serving up dishes even better than ever.

“We have a local farmers market down the street here," chef Andrea Shackelford previously told Local Profile. “That really sparked my interest in trying to work with local farmers.”

What To Order

From top to bottom, Harvest is delicious but some dishes truly stand out. Here are some of our favorites:

  • Sweet potato hummus: swiss chard, fresh carrot, fresh radish, pumpkin seed, pecan, and golden raisin vinaigrette, with sweet potato chips
  • Deviled eggs: carrot, smoked paprika, candied pecan, beet chow chow and dill
  • Pan-roasted redfish: potato puree, tomatillo, red bell pepper, pork chorizo, tomatillo glaze, chipotle butter and microgreens
  • Braised short rib: cauliflower and potato mash, herb breadcrumbs, crispy parsley and parsley oil
  • Chicken fried steak: sour cream mashed potatoes, pepper pan gravy, mustard and honey-glazed Swiss chard

How To Get There

Harvest at the Maisonic is located in downtown McKinney at 215 N Kentucky St. We recommend parking at the public lot at the corner of Church St. and West Virginia St.

How Restaurants Are Selected

Since The Michelin Guide Texas announcement, undercover inspectors have been quietly dining across the state, booking tables under assumed names and footing their own bills to guarantee an authentic, unfiltered experience — just like any other guest. The inspectors are full-time Michelin employees and rate their experience according to five publicly acknowledged assessment criteria:

  • Quality of the products
  • Mastery of flavor and cooking techniques
  • The personality of the chef in his or her cuisine
  • Value for money
  • Consistency between visits

What Restaurants Can Win

  • Green Star: highlights restaurants with notable sustainable practices
  • Exceptional cocktail: given to restaurants with quality cocktail programs
  • Recommended: inspectors recommend these restaurants
  • Bib Gourmand: given to restaurants that offer high-quality food at a reasonable price
  • One star: a very good restaurant
  • Two stars: excellent cooking that is worth a detour
  • Three stars: exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey
