On Aug. 18, 2023, Jones Jr. signed with the Dallas Mavericks. He made his debut for the team on Oct. 25, 2023, in a 126–119 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Jones Jr. made it to his second NBA Finals appearance, but the Mavericks were defeated by the Boston Celtics in five games.
