Dallas Cowboys legend Tony Romo announced that he plans on playing in the upcoming 2024 Invited Celebrity Classic, an Irving, Texas-based golf tournament that he won just last year.

After finishing as a runner-up in the tournament back in 2022, the former NFL quarterback and avid golfer narrowly beat out former pro tennis player Mardy Fish in the final round to take the crown in 2023.

As the reigning champ, Romo is set to headline an exciting celebrity field that features big name athletes — including Roger Clemons (former MLB All-Star pitcher), Reggie Bush (former NFL All-Pro running back) and Tim Brown (pro football hall of famer) — along with other personalities.

In addition to the celebrity roster, the event will also feature a field of 78 PGA TOUR Champions players. The celebrities will be playing for a prize pool worth $500,000, while the golf pros will be competing for a $2.2 million prize pot.

Once again taking place at Las Colinas Country Club (April 15-21) for the third year in a row, the annual Invited Celebrity Classic not only showcases skilled golf play, but also helps provide support to good causes.

Just like in previous years, the tournament will be raising funds in support of North Texas-based nonprofits including Momentous Institute (mental health service provider), as well as First Tee Greater Dallas and First Tee Fort Worth (youth golf development organizations). Since it was established, the PGA TOUR Champions event has generated nearly $500,000 in charitable donations for local organizations.

Romo said that he is not only excited to try and make a run at the championship again, but also to help benefit the local community at-large.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to defend my title in the 2024 Invited Celebrity Classic presented by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts next April,” said Romo. "It was an incredible event last year at the Las Colinas Country Club with fantastic competition and electric crowds. Similar to last year, the most exciting thing is the significant charitable impact in our community.”

General admission for the event is free of charge and can be reserved on Ticketmaster. Upgraded spectator experiences are also available for purchase and can be found here.
