It’s officially football season in North Texas, and this year, Frisco will be home to some of the most anticipated games in the country.

Here are the four big games coming to Frisco (via Visit Frisco):

U.S. Army Bowl

The U.S. Army Bowl unites 80 of the nation's best high school football players for a game at the Ford Center at The Star. The game is scheduled to take place on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 (exact time to be determined). The 2023 game will be the second U.S. Army Bowl in Frisco.

Rich McGuinness established the U.S. Army Bowl in 2001, and he still cherishes the tradition and the exceptional experience it offers to players, families and fans. Once a college football wide receiver, McGuinness, fueled by his fervor for athletic progress and highlighting the upcoming generation of playmakers, has paved the way for numerous student-athletes to realize their aspirations of collegiate football careers. Additionally, during his career, he initiated The Ladies Ball Global Championships in collaboration with the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.

NCAA Division I Football Championship (FCS)

In early Jan. 2024, the 2023-24 FCS playoffs will feature a 24-team bracket, with the top eight teams receiving automatic byes to the second round. The remaining 16 teams will compete in the first round.

To minimize travel for teams, the FCS playoff bracket will be regionalized for the initial two rounds. First-round matchups will prioritize regional proximity and avoid contests between conference teams that have already faced each other. Additionally, the first-round pairings will be aligned with teams seeded one through eight, all aimed at reducing travel requirements.
