Ramble, a 1,380-acre community in Celina, recently began construction on its property, which will feature 4,000 planned homes stretching from Preston Road to Custer Road.
Hillwood Communities officially started construction on the development on Oct. 23, 2024, after acquiring the land in January. Phase 1 will deliver 700 homes from premier DFW builders American Legend Homes, Coventry Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes and Perry Homes.
This phase will also feature a variety of amenities, including a beer garden, pool, sports courts, an event lawn and a nature-themed playground. Additionally, 18 acres are designated for future phase’s multifamily homes and 64 acres for commercial and retail space.
As Local Profile previously reported, the projected total investment surpasses $2 billion, with an average home price anticipated to be around $600,000 to $1,000,000. The natural hills, water features and extensive groves of mature trees found on the land will be integrated into a planned four-mile greenbelt. This greenbelt boasts activated parks, open spaces and lakes, offering ideal settings for outdoor recreation and leisure.
Just several miles away, more construction is happening in Celina. On Oct. 15, 2024, a groundbreaking ceremony kicked off the first phase of construction of the new downtown center, featuring a 25,202-square-foot, four-story parking garage with nearly 400 spaces.
Upon completion, the Downtown Center will span 115,245 square feet, housing city administrative offices and a cutting-edge 26,209-square-foot library that will offer essential resources and community programs. The multi-level library will provide a wide range of resources, featuring plenty of seating, computer stations and areas for community events.
Ramble isn’t the only project in the pipeline for Hillwood. They're set to unveil the Hunter Ranch neighborhood in Denton, Treeline in Justin and Legacy neighborhood in southeast Houston by 2025. The company is also expanding three master-planned communities in North Texas: Pecan Square in Northlake, Union Park in Little Elm and Harvest in Argyle.
