Mercer Boardwalk is a massive 62,378-square-foot dining and entertainment development headed to Farmers Branch. What better way to celebrate its grand opening than by hosting a Día de los Muertos event? The occasion is also a celebration of the first three restaurants to open at the location: Barrel & Bones Craft Bar and Smokehouse, Black Agave Cocina y Cantina and Dough Bro’s To Go.
Adjacent to Mercer Crossing, a mixed-use development by Centurion American at the intersection of I635 and Luna Road, Mercer Boardwalk offers scenic lake views and outdoor strolling opportunities.
Mercer Boardwalk will feature over eight dining destinations when the development is completed. Among the upcoming restaurants to open in the entertainment district in 2024 are Bugatti's, relocating from its iconic The Shops at Bluffview location in Dallas to Farmers Branch, Copa Club and Drunken Oyster, the acclaimed Cajun-inspired restaurant and absinthe bar created by celebrity Chef Rory Schepisi.
In a statement, Bugatti’s addressed the relocation to assure regulars the new location will keep the food and service quality they came accustomed to. “Don’t worry, with the new location change, Zee will not forget anyone’s name or favorite item on the menu!” read the restaurant’s statement. “None of this will change as we embark on our new journey.”
The grand opening celebration happening on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:00 p.m. attended by the three restaurant owners, members of the development team and Farmers Branch city officials. The real party begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage sampling from all three concepts, Calavera face painting sugar skull stilt walkers, a strolling beer burro, photo ops with a traditional Day of the Dead ofrenda and a live performance by party band 80s Mix Tape at 6:30 p.m.
Attendance at the grand opening event is free, but organizers are requesting RSVPs.
