What’s On The Ballot

If you're someone who prefers to know what you're getting into before making a decision — like checking out the menu before heading to a new restaurant — you’re definitely not alone. When it comes to voting, the same principle applies. Reviewing a sample ballot ahead of time can help you feel more prepared, informed and confident when you step into the voting booth.

Fortunately, Collin County makes it easy. Sample ballots are available online, giving you the chance to see exactly what’s on the ballot before early voting begins. You can explore the propositions, candidates and local measures that will be up for a vote, so there are no surprises on election day. Check out your sample ballot here

Frisco
This year, Frisco voters will determine the fate of a $160 million center for the arts, several city council meetings and a handful of charter amendments. Here’s everything you need to know. Twelve charter amendment propositions are also on Frisco’s ballot, including altering council terms and increasing the mayor's pay. All you need to know here.

Plano
Plano voters face a crucial decision: the city's largest bond ever, totaling $647.9 million. That’s not pocket change, folks! Time to decide if it’s worth the price tag. Plano’s bond aims to fund a variety of projects that will enhance infrastructure, public safety, parks, and other essential services — if approved. All you need to know here

Celina and Prosper
This year, several council seats and board of trustee positions are on the ballot in Celina and Prosper. But the biggest thing on the ballot is Celina’s large 10 ballot propositions proposing amendments to the city charter. Notably, one amendment would establish term limits of three terms each for city council members and the mayor, starting May 2025. All you need to know here

Prepare For Election Day Voting

If you didn’t make it to the polls during the early voting period — or if you tend to put things off until the last minute (no judgment, I’m right there with you) — you’ve still got a chance to make your voice heard. Collin County residents can vote on Election Day, which is set for Saturday, May 3.

Polling places will be open across the county, and as long as you're registered, you're good to go. Just be sure to double-check your voting location and bring an acceptable form of ID with you. There’s still time to be part of the decision-making process that will shape your community’s future.
