H-E-B recently announced Frisco’s second store is set to open at 6 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2024, marking the 15th location in North Texas. The first Frisco location at 4800 Main Street opened in September 2022.

The store, which will be located at HWY 380 and FM 423 at 899 University Drive, will serve residents in Collin County and eastern Denton County. A grand opening event will be held bright and early on Aug. 7, and will feature company executives, city officials, community leaders and area nonprofits.

“This new store builds on the company’s longstanding presence in the area and reinforces its commitment to serve more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas,” said Mabrie Jackson, senior director of public affairs for H-E-B.

Local Profile previously reported that the estimated cost of the second Frisco store was listed at more than $32 million. Plans were also filed for a fueling station and car wash on the store’s property with an additional estimated cost of $1.3 million. The site is referred to in the planning and zoning documents as the Four Corners Shopping Center.

H-E-B Frisco’s first location found great success in the city when it opened on Sept. 21, 2022. When doors opened at 6 a.m. the official headcount was over 1,500 people, and the line snaked around the front and side of the store. Other H-E-B openings around North Texas have witnessed similar excitement.

In April, H-E-B released details about the upcoming Prosper location, which is expected to open in 2025. The Prosper H-E-B store is at the southeast corner of Frontier Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway in Collin County.

Through its Spirit of Giving philosophy, H-E-B announced it will donate $40,000 to organizations that serve the area to commemorate the groundbreaking ceremony. H-E-B gifted $10,000 each to Grand Love, Prosper Education Foundation, Cornerstone North Central Texas and Lovepacs. These donations build on H-E-B’s support of more than 100 non-profit organizations and public schools in the DFW region.
