Until July 22, 2024, families within the Frisco ISD can initiate student transfers to another campus for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year. Students may transfer to campuses where projected enrollment for grades K-8 is below 90% capacity.

Each year, families must request student transfers, even if they were previously approved for prior years. Families who already requested a transfer for the 2024-25 academic year do not need to do so again.

Frisco ISD reviews student transfer petitions on an individual basis, yet maintains consistency in the process through administrative guidelines. Transfer requests for campuses not listed on the district website will not be accepted.

This year, 32 elementary schools are open for transfers, but only eight middle schools are below the capacity requirement.

High school transfers generally will not be approved, except for a special exception made for incoming seniors. Seniors who attended a Frisco ISD campus throughout their junior year and wish to remain at the same campus for their senior year must submit a senior rule request by 5 p.m. on July 22. This rule allows the class of 2025 to stay at their current campus even if they relocate out of their zone.

To submit a transfer request, the parent/guardian must create a portal account, which replaces the Guardian Gateway. Guardians should have received an email containing their portal username on June 17 or 18. If you did not receive it by June 19 contact [email protected].

Denial of transfer requests includes a link to the student transfer objection and petition form in the email notification. This form must be returned by the specified deadline. Transfer requests for the second semester are non-appealable. Requests from current FISD students outside designated transfer windows will be denied.
