Frisco Gears Up For Annual Battle Of The Badges Blood Drive

Life-saving blood donations scheduled for July 19-20

Frisco residents are gearing up to support their local heroes at the 2024 Battle of the Badges blood drive, scheduled for July 19-20. Organized by the Frisco Police and Fire Departments in collaboration with Carter BloodCare, this event aims to replenish vital blood supplies while fostering community spirit through friendly competition.

Participants are invited to donate blood at various locations across the city and cast their vote for either the police or fire department. The winning team earns not just bragging rights but also the coveted annual trophy.

“Frisco Fire and Carter BloodCare are counting on your support during next week's Battle of the Badges blood drive on July 19 and 20. Save lives, get an awesome shirt and VOTE FIRE!” reads a Facebook post by the Frisco Fire Department

High school blood drives, which normally contribute a significant portion of the region's blood supply, pause during the summer break. This hiatus and rising demand from trauma cases highlight the urgency of events like the Battle of the Badges.

On Friday, July 19, the blood drive is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at locations including the Frisco Police Department, Frisco Central Fire Station, Frisco City Hall and Frisco Library; and Saturday, July 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Frisco Athletic Center, Frisco Fire Station #7 and Frisco Fire Station #8.

Donors will receive a commemorative Battle of the Badges T-shirt as a token of gratitude, available while supplies last. Participants should bring a valid photo ID and are encouraged to schedule appointments in advance through Carter BloodCare's website.
