Kansas City-based company Chicken N’ Pickle recently broke ground on its latest location in Allen, Texas.
The fifth Texas location will find its home at The Farm in Allen, a 135-acre mixed-use development situated at the southeast intersection of Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Drive. Chicken N’ Pickle is set to become part of the lineup of entertainment destinations at The Farm, alongside High 5 and The Hub.
“Chicken N Pickle will set a new standard for family entertainment and dining in Allen,” said Jason Cooley, Allen CDC executive director. “They will be a vital part of our community, offering a space that fuels play, fosters connections and contributes to the city's vibrant culture."
Chicken N’ Pickle is an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex that offers pickleball — a popular activity that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong — as well as numerous yard games, such as cornhole and shuffleboard.
As Local Profile previously reported, the building itself will cost $14.7 million and span 43,000 square feet. The restaurant is expected to expand through a two-story space. Additionally, the building will feature an indoor, single-story pickleball court as well as outdoor courts.
Apart from offering recreational activities, the venue boasts a restaurant for laid-back dining and multiple bars where guests can unwind with a refreshing drink after their energetic sessions on the pickleball courts.
For those keen on mastering pickleball, Chicken N’ Pickle offers on-site instructors who conduct clinics covering the game's basics, tactics and more. However, pickleball enthusiasts preferring court time without instruction can easily book a court for hour-long play times.
The Kansas City company previously expanded its entertainment venues into San Antonio and Grand Prairie, and opened another location in Grapevine in January 2023. Chicken N’ Pickle also has locations in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arizona.
No date is set for the official opening, but Chicken N’ Pickle aims to open in early 2025.
