5 North Texas Cities Among Best Places For The Young And Wealthy To Live

Where should wealthy, young Americans settle down? Surprisingly, the best cities aren't the traditional hubs of prosperity like New York City. According to a recent study by Go Banking Rates, five North Texas cities ranked within the top 50 best places for wealthy young adults to live. 

Richardson And Denton Come Out In Top 20

Richardson, coming in 18th, stands out with 30.1% of its population aged 25-44, and 10.5% of households in this age group earning $150,000 or more. Among these households, 30.4% fall into the upper-income bracket.

  • Violent crime rate: 1.3 per 1,000 residents
  • Highlights: Attractive for young, affluent professionals

Ranking 19th, Denton also features a vibrant demographic with 30.4% of its population aged 25-44, 11.9% of households in this group earning $150,000 or more and 27.9% of these households within the upper-income bracket.

Dallas Lacks Safety, But Offers More Opportunities

In Dallas (28), 33.3% of its residents are aged 25-44, and among households in this group, 13.3% earn $150,000 or more and 37.5% fall into the upper-income bracket.

  • Property crime rate: 40.3 per 1,000 residents
  • Violent crime rate: 6.7 per 1,000 residents
  • Highlights: Bustling atmosphere, slightly higher risk for affluent young professionals

Irving And Lewisville Offer Affordable Living 

Irving (34) has 33.3% of its population aged 25-44, with 11.3% of households in this group earning $150,000 or more. Among these households, 29.4% fall into the upper-income bracket.

  • Property crime rate: 24.5 per 1,000 residents
  • Violent crime rate: 3.0 per 1,000 residents
  • Highlights: Solid choice for young professionals seeking a balance of opportunity and safety

Ranking 46th, Lewisville has 34.0% of its population aged 25-44, with 11.8% of households in this group earning $150,000 or more. Among these households, 32.9% belong to the upper-income bracket.

  • Violent crime rate: 2.3 per 1,000 residents
  • Highlights: Affordable living with reasonable safety for young professionals

GOBankingRates analyzed key data from sources like the U.S. Census, FBI and AreaVibes to identify the best cities for wealthy young Americans. Using a minimum household income of $150,000, factors such as crime rates, livability and quality of life were evaluated.
