Last month, Michael Wiggins began his new post as senior vice president, administrator for Children’s Medical Center Plano. He will be responsible for the implementation of the Children’s Health strategic plan at the Plano campus and will direct the hospital’s day-to-day operations.
Wiggins comes to Children’s Medical Center Plano from Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, where he served as vice president of operations.
“I look forward to working with the physician leaders to build on the many successes of Children’s Medical Center Plano,” Wiggins said. “I believe my experience in both a pediatric health system and a large physician group practice will be helpful as we continue to develop our services in Plano.”
Doug Hock, president and chief operating officer for the hospital and executive vice president, clinical services for Children’s Health, said, “We are very proud of the Plano campus and are excited to have Michael come to lead and expand the services.
Hock continued, “He will interface with the new Children’s Medical Center Plano governing body, and work with the outstanding medical and clinical staff in our mission to make life better for children. Adding Michael to our leadership emphasizes our commitment to the Plano community and to provide a wider array of complex-care services to the growing number of families in the Plano area.”
A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Wiggins holds a BA and MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
