Urban Italia To Open In Dallas’ Victory Park

The restaurant will offer dinner service, with lunch and brunch to be added

Urban Italia, an exciting new dining destination led by award-winning chef Carla Pellegrino, is set to introduce the flavors of Italy to Dallas’ Victory Park in early 2025.

The restaurant will occupy 3030 Nowitzki Way, the 6,100-square-foot space that once housed the former WFAA studio, promising an authentic Italian dining experience that resonates with the vibrancy of the neighborhood.

Chef Pellegrino, celebrated for her culinary achievements in New York and Las Vegas with renowned establishments like Baldoria and Rao’s Las Vegas, will bring her expertise and deep Italian heritage to the heart of Dallas. She was previously named a VIP member of the James Beard Foundation. Pellegrino also opened Teatro in Grapevine earlier this year, which boasts fresh flavors and homemade comfort foods.

Urban Italia’s menu will feature a thoughtfully curated array of regional Italian dishes, including handcrafted pizzas, pastas and Aquerello risottos, all prepared with the finest ingredients.

"I've always been interested in Dallas, and now feels like the perfect time to be here,” said Pellegrino in an official statement. “Texas, and especially Dallas, is becoming a hub for culinary innovation and diversity, attracting attention from all over the country. The culture and vibe of this city are truly special, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to cater to such warm and welcoming people."

Urban Italia will celebrate both classic Italian dishes and beloved Italian-American creations. Pellegrino aims to blend the timeless charm of Neapolitan cuisine with the inventive flair of American-Italian favorites, ensuring a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. The restaurant will boast an open kitchen, giving guests a front-row seat to the culinary artistry as pizzas are crafted in a traditional wood-fired oven, imported straight from Naples. “From our wood-fired pizzas to our homemade pastas, everything will be crafted with love and the finest ingredients,” Pellegrino said.

Construction for Urban Italia is already underway, with the restaurant scheduled to open in early 2025. Initially, the restaurant will offer dinner service, with lunch and brunch expected to be added in the first few months after opening.
