Miami-born artisanal pizza concept, Mister O1, announced that it will be opening up a new location in Flower Mound, Texas, in Spring 2024.
The new pizzeria will be the franchise’s fourth location in the Lone Star State, after opening its doors in Dallas and Grapevine in the past year, and with a third spot in Mansfield set to open this upcoming fall.
Known for its commitment to delivering extraordinary pizza experiences, Mister O1's inception traces back to the vision of founder and master chef, Renato Viola, who honed his culinary passion in Southern Italy at an early age.
After apprenticing with some of Italy’s most-renowned chefs by the age of 11, Viola’s culinary journey eventually led to him moving to Miami under the O1 visa category — which is reserved for individuals with “extraordinary artistic ability.”
While in Florida, Viola opened his first Mister O1 restaurant in 2014 and has since expanded the pizzeria into 13 locations throughout Florida, Texas, Spain and Saudi Arabia.
The pizza concept has even earned some acclaim along the way, earning the title of “best pizza in Florida” by culinary publication, Food & Wine.
John LaBarge — owner of both the Flower Mound and Grapevine locations — said, as a Dallas local himself, that he is thrilled to be bringing in another Mister O1 to North Texas.
“Expanding to Flower Mound was a natural choice for Mister O1. It is a great community and was recently ranked fourth ‘Best Place to Live’ in the U.S. (by Money Magazine in 2021-2022),” said LaBarge. “It is centrally located in North Texas, close to major cities and DFW Airport. With these and all the other convenience factors that Flower Mound has to offer, we believe it’s a great spot for our next location.”
Mister O1's menu offers a wide array of artisanal pizzas, which are renowned for their delicate thin-crust style.
Among the pizzas featured at Mister O1 include the Star Beckham (star-shaped pizza filled with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, bacon, onions, fresh tomatoes, ranch dressing and basil), Coffee Paolo (Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella, gorgonzola blue cheese, natural honey, coffee and spicy salami calabrese), Elisa (mozzarella, ricotta cheese, natural honey, black pepper and white truffle oil) and much more.
In addition to its pizza pies, Mister O1's menu also contains calzones, salads, antipasti and dessert pizza, along with a multitude of beverages such as Italian wines and beers.
