Kent Rathbun’s Curbside BBQ Rolls Into Klyde Warren Park

The beloved chef’s BBQ trailer relocated from the Katy Trail to Klyde Warren Park

Kent Rathbun, a renowned figure in the Dallas culinary scene for over 25 years with restaurants like Abacus and Jasper’s, has relocated his popular mobile barbecue venture to Klyde Warren Park. Originally launched during the pandemic along the Katy Trail, Rathbun’s Curbside BBQ now serves smoked meats at the park every Thursday through Sunday, starting at 8 a.m.

Klyde Warren Park, a vibrant green space connecting Uptown and downtown Dallas, is famous for its diverse array of food trucks, live entertainment and community activities. The addition of Rathbun’s Curbside BBQ enhances the park’s dining options, offering top-quality meats and sides for visitors to enjoy on-site or take away.

“Chef Kent Rathbun is a Dallas institution who has long been prized for his gourmet chops at top-notch restaurants like Abacus and in national competitions like Iron Chef America,” said Kit Sawers, president and CEO of Klyde Warren Park. “To now have him offering his delicious BBQ regularly at the park is a credit to the high standards set by our current food trucks and takes us to a whole new level.”

The menu includes favorites such as pecan-smoked wagyu beef ribs, brisket, beef tenderloin, jalapeño-cheddar sausages, smoked turkey breast and cedar plank salmon, complemented by sides like aged gouda mac and cheese, baked potato salad, Granny Smith apple coleslaw, and maple brown sugar baked beans. Breakfast tacos are available starting at 8 a.m.

“Klyde Warren Park is the premier gathering place in Dallas, so we couldn’t ask for a better location to serve our barbecue,” Rathbun said. “We feel fortunate that our barbecue concept has been so well received by our friends and neighbors, and we’re excited to share it with even more customers near and far.”

Kent Rathbun’s Curbside BBQ operates at Klyde Warren Park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday through Sunday. For more information, please click here.
