The Omni PGA Frisco resort is set to elevate the local dining scene with the inaugural SAVOR festival, a unique culinary and lifestyle event designed to bring together food and drink, golf and music — with a touch of celebrity.
The event, which was inspired three years ago by the resort's leadership, is poised to become a signature occasion in Frisco and the broader North Texas region.
Bringing The Vision To Life
The idea for SAVOR came from a vision to offer something truly exclusive for not just North Texas, but the whole country. In short, an event worth booking a plane ticket for.
During a media event on April 1, 2025, Omni PGA Frisco Vice President and Managing Director Jeff Smith, explained the resort’s goal from the outset. “It was always our intention to have signature events,” Smith said. “This is really the first premier signature event that really is going to focus heavily on featuring food, drink, golf and music.”
Big Names Are Coming To Frisco

SAVOR’s inaugural year features an impressive lineup of chefs and entertainers. Renowned chefs like John Tesar, Dean Fearing, Joe Riojas and Kwame Nwachi, who operates New York’s Tatiana (the city’s top restaurant with reservations that can take a month to secure), are set to participate.
"If you look at this in the context of a resort hosting this event... this level of talent the first year out," Gus Tejeda, the resort’s director of sales and marketing said. Local chefs like Rich Vanna from Heritage Table in Frisco will also be part of the celebration, bringing a local flavor to the event.
In addition to exceptional cuisine, the festival will feature celebrity guests, adding a touch of glamour to the proceedings. Attendees will have the chance to mingle with stars such as Dennis Quaid, Kevin Dillon, Kurt Russell and more.
These celebrities won't just be on the sidelines; many will be participating in the festival’s golf tournaments and will be involved in the events throughout the weekend.
An Exclusive Experience
Unlike other large-scale festivals that attract thousands of attendees, SAVOR is designed to provide an intimate, high-end experience. "The maximum that we will have is Saturday night at 600," said Tejeda. The event he is referring to is the grand tasting.
The festival’s exclusivity extends to its ticket sales. With events like the Masters of Taste four-course dinner on Thursday night — limited to just 100 attendees at $550 per person — guests are promised a top-tier, intimate experience.
Friday's Fork and Fire event and Saturday's Best of Texas Grand Tasting also prioritize quality over quantity, with a carefully curated guest list for each event. As Tejeda noted, “If you're attending, you're going to have an intimate experience with the chefs, the musicians and obviously the celebrities.”
What truly differentiates SAVOR from similar events in cities like South Beach or the Hamptons is its focus on intimacy and luxury. “There’s nothing worse than attending something like this and you just feel like you're in the masses,” Tejedas said. “This will be the opposite of that, and it will always be intended to be that way.”
This attention to detail and the emphasis on a personalized experience is what will make SAVOR a standout event for Frisco and beyond.
More Than Just a Food & Wine Festival
Tejeda played a key role in conceptualizing the festival’s other offerings. "We had a couple of what-if questions... What if we could create an Omni PGA Frisco signature experience that’s never been offered before at a resort?"
The team envisioned an event that would highlight local artisans, including chefs and vendors, while also bringing in culinary talent from around the country. “We wanted to make sure we had a little bit of everything,” Tejeda said.

Adding to the experience, Stetson will host a pop-up hat bar, while Lucchese will offer a boot-fitting pop-up shop, showcasing timeless Western craftsmanship. Additionally, local Texan artist John Lowry will present his artwork, bringing a unique artistic touch to the festival.
“John is the most popular artist on the Buc-ee's bathroom wall,” Tejeda said. “So if you walk into Buc-ee's and you go in those restrooms, one of the artists is John.” A high Texas honor indeed.
With an incredible lineup of talent, SAVOR Festival promises an unforgettable weekend of culinary excellence, star-studded entertainment and Texas hospitality. “When we thought of this event, we just didn't want it to be a food and wine event,” Tejeda said. “We really wanted it to be a lifestyle event.”
