We just visited the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue in Plano with our two kids (ages 6 and 8), and it was amazing! After we left, my son declared, "It wasn't good, it was great!"
The Minecraft Experience is currently booking through Jan 5, 2025. If you’re planning a visit, here are the top 10 things you need to know to make the most of your adventure.
1. It’s a Real-Life Minecraft Adventure
You’ll actually be chopping down trees, mining for gems, and battling Minecraft creatures like skeletons, spiders and creepers. It feels just like the game, but in real life — our kids were thrilled!
2. Explore Huge Biome Projections
You get to journey through three different biomes, projected onto massive screens that make you feel like you’re inside the game. Even the floor reacts to your movements, adding to the immersive experience.
3. Interactive Escape Room
Using your Orb of Interaction (a glowing cube you use to interact with the world around you), as well as your Minecraft skills, you’ll work together to solve puzzles in an escape-room-style quest. It’s a fun challenge for everyone, even if you’re not a Minecraft expert.
4. It’s Perfect for Kids
While adults will enjoy it too, this experience is definitely designed for kids, especially ages 7 and up. Our 6-year-old had a blast but needed a little guidance through some of the activities.
5. No Minecraft Knowledge Required
You don’t need to know a thing about Minecraft to have fun here. The interactive games and hands-on activities are engaging for kids and adults, whether they’re fans of Minecraft or not. Although, if you are a Minecraft fan, visiting the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue in Plano is a must!
6. Restrooms Are Outside
One important tip: the restrooms are located outside the building, so it’s best to go before or after entering the experience to avoid interruptions.
7. Keep Coats and Bags in the Car
There’s no storage inside the experience, so we recommend leaving coats, bags, and any other extra items in the car to travel light. Once inside you really need your hands free to be able to play.
8. Enjoy the Trading Post for Souvenirs
At the end of the adventure, you can visit the Minecraft Trading Post to pick up exclusive Minecraft-themed souvenirs. It’s a fun way to cap off the experience and grab a keepsake.
9. Tickets and Pricing
- General Admission: $32 (varies depending on time)
- Friends & Family Pack (4-15 tickets): $28 per person
- Groups (16+ tickets): $25 per person (these sell out fast) Reserve your tickets early, as the experience is currently booking through Jan. 5, 2024.
- Book tickets here.
10. Location and Accessibility
Address: 2712 N. Central Expressway, Plano
Duration: About 1 hour
Accessibility: The venue is ADA-compliant, making it accessible to all
