Melissa, Texas, will host the 2nd Annual Melissa Road Tribute Festival on Sept. 14, 2024, from 3 to 9:30 p.m. The event, located on Melissa Road between Central and Miller Streets, promises a day of live music, local food, shopping and family activities.
The festival will feature performances on two stages, including tribute acts such as Reputation (honoring Taylor Swift), Double Vision (paying homage to Foreigner) and Le Freak (celebrating disco music). Additionally, attendees can enjoy family-friendly entertainment from the Dallas Tap Dazzlers and a ventriloquist comedy act.
This year’s event also introduces a variety of local food vendors and merchandise booths. The kids zone will offer expanded activities and the day will conclude with a fireworks display around 9:28 p.m.
"Our team’s dedication and passion are what make this festival possible. We look forward to another successful event that brings our community together,” said City Manager Jason Little in an official statement. “Our goal is to create an exceptional experience for everyone, learn from each festival and continually improve to make each year better than the last."
According to the official statement, this event was developed in 2023 with the goal of bringing Melissa residents together to enjoy talented tribute bands performing popular tunes.
The festival is free to the public. For more details, visit the city of Melissa’s website here.
