The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is bringing back its beloved exhibit, “Dinosaurs Live!”, now celebrating its 19th year.
Opening on Aug. 31, 2024, and continuing through Feb. 17, 2025, this exhibit offers an unforgettable journey through the prehistoric world with lifelike animatronic dinosaurs that will enthrall visitors of all ages.
“Dinosaurs Live!” takes visitors on a journey back to the age of dinosaurs, featuring an exhilarating display of life-sized, animated and roaring dinosaur models. This year’s highlights include the towering Tyrannosaurus rex, the ceratopsian Chasmosaurus and the impressive Suchomimus. With their realistic movements and sounds, these models provide a glimpse into the prehistoric world.
Beyond the dinosaur displays, the exhibit offers interactive elements and educational opportunities. Guests can explore a fossil dig site, interact with informative displays and enjoy hands-on activities designed to ignite curiosity and wonder. Educational programs and guided tours led by expert staff are also available by reservation, providing an enhanced learning experience for school groups, families and dinosaur enthusiasts.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary, the exhibit offers a distinctive fusion of outdoor exploration and scientific discovery. The sanctuary’s scenic trails and wildlife habitats create a tranquil setting, perfect for a day filled with both fun and learning.

The Heard will host an epic adults-only evening under the stars featuring a showing of the original 90’s blockbuster Jurassic Park in their outdoor amphitheater. Guests will also be surrounded by the life-size animatronic dinosaurs along our nature trail. The event will also include delicious food vendors and a cash bar with a selection of beverages. - Halloween at the Heard: Oct. 12, 2024
This premier family-friendly Halloween event will offer the joy of trick-or-treating along the eerie “Dinosaurs Live!” exhibit trail. Families will enjoy an evening full of fun activities, including a presentation of a movie on the Heard’s outdoor amphitheater stage. - Holidays at the Heard: Dec. 6 and 7, 2024
Holidays at the Heard brings the beauty of the holiday season into nature. Holiday lights and décor will accentuate a lovely half-mile Heard nature trail. Plus, guests will get a glimpse of the “Dinosaurs Live!” exhibit along the trail.
