How The Study Was Done
WalletHub analyzed 100 of the largest U.S. cities using 38 key metrics. The data covered factors such as the percentage of sheltered homeless individuals, volunteering hours per capita and the proportion of income donated to charity. WalletHub assessed these dimensions using 38 relevant metrics, each weighted accordingly.
“The most caring cities donate a lot of money to charity and have high volunteer rates, but being a caring city overall requires much more than just giving time or money,” WalletHub Analyst Chip Lupo said in an official statement.
