Clear your Saturday night plans — because Kaleidoscope Park is bringing the horns, the rhythm and the fun. On May 10, the Plano Symphony Orchestra will perform a free jazz concert on the Performance Lawn in Frisco from 7 to 9 p.m., thanks to Capital One.

Open to all ages, the night promises a 25-piece jazz performance, lawn games, local food trucks and craft cocktails by Tapaholics. It’s jazz meets picnic, with a sprinkle of community flair.

Music Meets Community

Falling on the eve of Mother’s Day, the evening is a low-pressure, high-reward way to celebrate the moms in your life. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, a few music-loving friends and kick back as PSO musicians bring the energy to Kaleidoscope Park.

Founded in 1983, the Plano Symphony Orchestra has grown into one of the region’s most respected ensembles under the direction of Maestro Héctor Guzmán.

“We are incredibly grateful to Capital One for their generous support of the Plano Symphony Orchestra performances at Kaleidoscope Park,” said Shawn Jackson, executive director of Kaleidoscope Park, in an official statement. “Their sponsorship allows us to offer high-quality, live musical experiences that are free and accessible to the entire community, creating meaningful moments for visitors of all ages.”

A Partnership That Hits The Right Note

Sanjiv Yajnik, president of financial services at Capital One, said the bank’s sponsorship is part of its broader investment in arts and community.

“We’re incredibly proud to be part of bringing the North Texas community together through the power of music,” said Yajnik. “Kaleidoscope Park is a wonderful addition to Frisco, and it reinforces Capital One’s commitment to fostering a strong and vibrant community.”

More To Come

The concert is part of Kaleidoscope Park’s 2025 season of free public programming, which includes arts performances, wellness events and cultural showcases.

Since its grand opening in October 2024, Kaleidoscope Park has become a hub for arts, play and connection in Frisco. The 5.7-acre park features public art installations, shaded plazas, gardens and outdoor performance spaces.

Operated by the Kaleidoscope Park Foundation — a partnership between Communities Foundation of Texas and the City of Frisco — the park emphasizes inclusivity and year-round access to cultural programming.
