I like to think of myself as a bit of a book connoisseur — okay, more like a full-blown book devourer. When you’re clocking in at nearly 120 books a year, that’s not just a hobby, that’s a literary lifestyle (and yes, I will absolutely brag about it). Now, my bookish dreams are getting a major upgrade with the arrival of Bibliobar, an independent bookstore that’s basically my happy place in the making.
Technically, Bibliobar is already slinging everything from the internet-obsessed Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros to those kids’ books written by celebrities. But the real celebration kicks off on April 26, 2025, with their official grand opening — and yes, I’m already planning my outfit.
What Bibliobar Will Sell
According to the Dallas Observer, Bibliobar started as an online and pop-up bookshop, setting up shop at coffee shops and breweries since 2017. In 2023, it found a home in the Plano Shopping Co-Op in downtown Plano, where she sold books on the second floor. Though the co-op closed in April 2024, Bibliobar is back and better than ever — this time with its very own storefront. The shop will be located at 1018 E 15th St, Plano.
Bibliobar has all the BookTok bestsellers, debut novels from local indie authors, and a treasure trove of children's books. However, the focus here is on women and children — so sorry, fellas, no macho-man self-help or bodybuilding books. But who knows? You might just discover a new love for romance novels!
Beyond The Books
In addition to offering books and book-themed gifts, Bibliobar will host a variety of events including author readings, wine tastings, game nights and book clubs for all ages. Whether you're looking for a fun outing with the ladies, a playdate with the kids, a game night with friends, or an afternoon with the whole family, this will be your new favorite spot.
“This won't just be another bookstore for you to run in and run out. Our store will encourage new and seasoned readers to pick up a book in a casual, cozy setting, making our store the perfect spot to discuss your favorite books and authors or to sit quietly and read to your heart's content,” Biblibar’s website reads.
The store will also feature a dedicated children's space, packed with the best kids' books, story times, educational workshops and more.

The Bookstore Boom
Books are back! Well they didn’t exactly go anywhere. But the demand is definitely up. According to Forbes, U.S. print book sales rose by 67.8 million in 2021, with adult fiction sales rising 25.5% and adult nonfiction sales rising 4.4%.
This growing demand is driving the need for more bookstores. As Local Profile previously reported, even smaller towned like Prosper are getting bookstores for themselves with the addition of Barnes & Noble. Over in McKinney, Neighbor Books is out here turning both real and made-up dreams into reality with its gloriously multi-level independent bookstore. This isn’t just a shop — it’s a stairway to literary heaven. The future is now, people. And it’s being written one page (and maybe a snack break) at a time.
