The 2015-2016 season of the Plano Symphony Orchestra opened on Saturday September 29th with an unforgettable performance of Tchaikovsky featuring violinist Chee-Yun Kim, and this October continues with “Here’s Doc.”

“Here’s Doc,” features the legendary Doc Severinsen, who ruled the late night television airwaves for thirty years on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and sidekick, Ed McMahon. A week after the final telecast, Doc Severinsen hit the road wowing audiences all over the world – performing with the Plano Symphony Orchestra and Hector Guzman, conductor at the Eisemann Center at 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 24th.

A Grammy award winner with more than 30 albums to his credit, this tour de force concert pays tribute to the American songbook and highlights of Doc’s favorite tunes from the Big Band era and beyond. Doc’s incredible trumpet skills are displayed in hits like Summertime, I’m Getting Sentimental Over You, Mack the Knife, Singin’ in the Rain, and 12 O’Clock Jump. The evening also includes favorite stories told with Doc’s famous sense of humor.
