The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History recently introduced an exciting new addition to its lineup of attractions: the Jane & John Justin Foundation Omni Theater, powered by Cosm technology.

The Experience

The Omni Theater experience offers a fully immersive multi-sensory journey. Designed with comfortable seating, it invites guests to relax and become immersed in the narrative. Enhanced by spatial audio, the experience is not only seen but also heard and felt, making you feel as though you are part of the action unfolding before you.

The Omni Theater's 88,000-pound dome emits light rather than projecting it like traditional cinemas. This revolutionary technology intensifies the vividness of the visuals, creating a far more vibrant and lifelike experience. The high-quality Cosm technology offers unique views of the immersive screen from each individual seat, making every visit feel new each time.

"Fort Worth is the perfect location for this larger-than-life experience because it’s a city deeply rooted in innovation, education and culture," Cosm Chief Operations Officer Kirk Johnson told Local Profile. "The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History has inspired millions of visitors over the last four decades, and its bold vision for the future aligns perfectly with Cosm’s mission to transform how people engage with content."

"Together, we’re redefining what’s possible for museums and setting a new global standard for immersive experiences."

The Technology

At the core of the Omni Theater's appeal is the world's largest LED dome display ever installed in a museum. This groundbreaking achievement elevates the Omni Theater to a class of its own, offering visitors an exceptional experience in visual storytelling. With its 8K LED display, the theater delivers unmatched clarity and detail, even surpassing the technological wonder of the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Boasting nearly 12,000 individual screens, the dome is 40 times brighter than traditional projection systems. This extraordinary brightness ensures that each frame shines with vibrant, rich colors, pushing the boundaries of what's possible and transforming the way audiences engage with the visuals.

"When guests visit the Jane & John Justin Foundation Omni Theater, they can expect to be completely transported — whether it's exploring the cosmos, diving into underwater worlds or experiencing live, interactive presentations with scientists and educators," Johnson said. "Our CX System LED dome technology delivers stunning, lifelike visuals with unmatched brightness and clarity, creating a truly immersive environment where the technology disappears, and the experience takes center stage."

Tickets for the new Jane & John Justin Omni Theater will be available for purchase starting Monday, November 25.
