Notes Live, the music venue and hospitality enterprise, is set to construct the Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney, Texas, boasting a staggering 20,000-person capacity.
Planned for northeast of the intersection of U.S. 75 and S.H. 121, the Sunset Amphitheater promises an unparalleled experience for concertgoers. Each seat will offer optimal comfort with unobstructed views of the stage, ensuring an immersive experience with quality sound.
The venue will offer breathtaking vistas of the sunset against the backdrop of the stage. Taking inspiration from Notes Live's successful food and music hub in Colorado Springs, the project will span 46 acres and include over 250 luxurious fire pit suites, traditional reserved seating in the mid and lower bowl sections, a landscaped grass berm and Owners Club suites.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be bringing our biggest venue to date to McKinney, Texas,” said JW Roth, founder and CEO of Notes Live. “They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and for the Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney, that was our guiding principle — bigger, and better. McKinney is an incredible community, and we can’t wait to build the most over-the-top venue on earth.”
The Sunset Amphitheater is anticipated to generate over 1,300 direct and indirect employment opportunities while stimulating over $3 billion in regional and local economic activity within its initial decade of operation. Construction of the Sunset is slated to commence in late 2024, with the aspiration of debuting this extraordinary outdoor venue in time for the 2026 concert touring season.
This open-air amphitheater is expected to elevate McKinney's status as a premier touring destination for top-tier national acts while redefining the benchmark for Texas music venues. The endeavor to bring the venue to fruition in McKinney was a collaborative endeavor between the city, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and the McKinney Community Development Corporation.
“This world-class music venue is a game-changer for our entertainment offerings in McKinney and will be a boon for our economic growth and tourism sector. With a state-of-the-art venue of this size, we can draw some of the largest musical acts to the city and attract fans from across Texas and the surrounding states,” said Mayor George Fuller in a statement. “This new addition to our community will bring even more life and energy to our already thriving arts scene and undoubtedly continue to set McKinney apart as an entertainment and cultural hub in the region.”
