On March 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Collin College’s Plano Campus will be hosting “Science Under the Stars,” a family-friendly event that will take visitors on a memorable scientific excursion.
Combining education with fun, Science Under the Stars is an all-ages carnival that features a variety of performances, games and immersive experiences, with attendees learning from local scientists throughout the event.
Among the scientific disciplines explored at the carnival include anthropology, biology, chemistry, geology, veterinary technology and much more.
“Science Under the Stars is the community’s chance to join local scientists in exploring our world from the atomic to the celestial,” said Stacey Bilich, one of the event’s organizers. “We believe this event will spark wonder and fuel the imagination for your young scientist.”
In addition to the activities planned for the event, Science Under the Stars will also be offering complimentary food to hungry guests, as well as giving away a number of prizes, including a $1,500 Collin College scholarship.
The scientific carnival is free for all to attend, although all guests are required to complete a participation waiver, which is available on the event website. Attendees that are 17 years of age and younger and are unaccompanied by an adult are mandated to bring a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
Collin College’s Plano Campus can be found at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway. For more event details, visit the Science Under the Stars webpage.
