Dairy Farmers Of America Sponsors North Texas Performing Arts Annual Awards

North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) announced Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) as the presenting sponsor for the 3rd Annual North Texas Performing Arts Stardust Awards. This event, which recognizes top performing arts talent and supporters in North Texas, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Plano Events Center.

DFA, a global dairy cooperative owned by nearly 7,000 family dairy farms in the U.S., supports its farmer-owners by providing services like milk collection and processing. DFA's brands include Borden Cheese, Plugra Butter and Oak Farms Dairy. With several locations in  Dallas-Fort Worth, DFA emphasizes a diverse and inclusive workforce.

"We are thrilled to have DFA’s support enabling scholarships and programs to further our mission and give every child in North Texas an opportunity to take the stage and have their voice heard,” said Abbi Wreyford, NTPA’s governing board president. "Their support for the NTPA North Texas Stardust Awards for the second year in a row offers a unique opportunity to support the performing arts and allows us to recognize the work of incredible performers, arts educators, non-profit arts organizations, volunteers, and more."

The evening will feature live performances, auctions, a multi-course dinner and awards honoring performing arts teachers, artists, philanthropists and organizations. This year's honorary stardust committee co-chairpersons are Mayor John Muns and Joa Muns.

“NTPA is doing incredible work in helping make the performing arts more accessible to diverse communities, and we are thrilled to play a role in helping extend that reach,” said Danelle Bender, senior vice president and chief treasury officer at DFA.

Last year’s Stardust Award recipients included actor B.J. Cleveland, Katherine Wagner from the Business Council for the Arts, Graciela Katzer of the International Festival and Frisco City Council Member Tammy Meinershagen.

The awards will honor outstanding artists, arts educators, volunteers and leaders. An independent blue-ribbon committee of civic leaders and local professionals will select the award recipients from the applications received. Finalists and honorees in each category will be recognized at the gala event.

The evening will also highlight NTPA’s volunteers, essential to the organization's mission, in categories such as set design and costuming.

Proceeds from the event will support scholarships for underserved youth and fund operations and critical projects for North Texas Performing Arts.
