Scottish Rite for Children is expected to begin construction on the Frisco facility in February 2024. The estimated construction cost is $3.3 million and is expected to be complete by January 2025.

The project involves completing one operating room and two pre-op rooms, along with partially finishing another operating room. The expansion project's state filing named Dallas-based HKS as the design firm.

HKS was the original designer for Scottish Rite in Frisco, which won multiple awards. According to the designers, the colorful building provides positive distractions, and the site’s welcoming landscape invites the surrounding community to enjoy the open areas, playing fields and walking trails.

Featuring color-coded floors, a spacious spiral staircase and vibrant artwork, the design embodies movement and inspires children on their path to recovery. Spread across 40 acres, the campus includes playing fields, a walking and running trail and a playground park accessible to both patients and the community. Additionally, the campus actively engages in an educational outreach program aimed at enhancing athletic safety.

The Frisco campus provides outpatient services and surgical solutions for pediatric orthopedic concerns, covering issues related to the spine, hip, hand and foot. At the heart of the campus is a Center of Excellence in Sports Medicine, dedicated to treating sports-related orthopedic conditions and concussions.

Scottish Rite for Children treats complex orthopedic cases, as well as certain related arthritic and neurological disorders and learning disorders. Scottish Rite for Children's service area covers Dallas, Collin, Denton, Grayson, Rockwall, Tarrant, Kaufman and Ellis counties.
