On Saturday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m., the fourth annual Jerry Jones Classic, presented by Whataburger, will light up Ford Center at The Star

The highly anticipated high school football showdown will kick off with the North Crowley Panthers and the Lancaster Tigers, marking their first meeting in over two decades. The game will be broadcast live on TXA21.

“Whataburger and Friday night football go hand in hand,” said Whataburger President and CEO, Ed Nelson. “We’re honored to be part of this great tradition and are excited to kick off the football season with these two amazing teams.”

North Crowley, fresh from a strong 6A Division I state semi-final run last season, returns with a senior class brimming with talent, including five Division I commits and three additional top recruits. Quarterback Chris Jimerson Jr., who passed for 3,092 yards, 40 touchdowns and 3 interceptions last season while also rushing for 1,105 yards and 12 touchdowns, will lead the Panthers.

Lancaster, with a proven track record of five consecutive seasons with at least nine wins, will be led by Nevada commit Carter Jones, who passed for 1,895 yards last season. He will rely on Emmanuel Choice, a future Oklahoma Sooner, to drive their offense forward.

"What an honor it is to have two storied Texas high school football programs compete here to open the season," said Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys Owner, president and general manager. "The tradition that has been established with this game is very special to me, my family and our entire organization. High school football is the bloodline of our sport and we are proud to continue hosting high school games all season long at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco."
