Police Seize $85,000 In Construction Materials In North Texas

The Celina Police Department announced a search and seizure operation at the 500 block of East Division Street in Pilot Point, resulting in the recovery of stolen construction materials and the arrest of three suspects believed to be key figures in the criminal operation. 

According to Celina police, the operation took place on Sept. 13, 2023. Law enforcement seized a substantial quantity of stolen items, including approximately 120 windows, several hundred pieces of trim board, sheets of plywood decking, zip-oriented strand boards, particle boards and header boards. The total estimated value of the recovered construction materials was $85,000.

Alongside the recovered materials, officers also seized $12,000 in cash and several vehicles suspected to be linked to the illegal activities spanning several neighboring cities in Collin and Denton Counties. 

“The Celina Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to the City Government of Celina, Texas Public Works Department for their assistance in facilitating the collection of the construction materials,” Celina police said in a statement. “The department would also like to thank the Pilot Point Police Department and Pilot Point Fire Department for their assistance during the investigation and the execution of the search warrant.”

The three suspects were arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity and more charges are expected as the investigation continues. Jorge Paz Fajardo and Duglas Caballero are in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Police did not specify where the third suspect, Tania Josselyn Caballeros Zuniga, is being held. 

The operation was part of a collaborative effort by officers from the Celina Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Reduction Unit and Patrol Division.
