In 2025, football fans will get an exclusive look at one of the most legendary dynasties in NFL history with America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, a riveting 10-part docuseries that chronicles the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones’ transformative influence on NFL history. What started as a bold acquisition led to the creation of the iconic ’90s team.
Why You Should Watch
With never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews, this series will unravel the untold story behind the rise of the Cowboys’ legendary superteam in the 1990s, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the high-stakes decisions, downfalls and drama that shaped the team into a dynasty.
“It’s a soap opera 365 days a year,” Jones says in the trailer.
The Cowboys, now headquartered in Frisco, enjoyed an incredible run in the 1990s, bolstered by a star-studded roster. Throughout the docuseries, viewers will hear from several of these legends, including Troy Aikman, Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith and head coaches Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer.
Dallas Cowboy’s Netflix Takeover
In 2024, Netflix released a docuseries following the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC). With the unprecedented popularity and success of the series, the streaming service announced in November the series would come back for a second season. With the return of high kicks and Thunderstruck the series will follow DCC from the nerve-wracking auditions and intense training camp to the high-energy NFL 2024–25 season.
Netflix’s Move On Sports
In addition to its documentaries and docuseries, Netflix is expanding its presence in the sports world with legendary NBA docs, planned Christmas NFL games, Formula One and the PGA Tour. This year, the streaming service also showed the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match held at AT&T Stadium.
