Which side of I-635 has a better culinary scene? Celebrity Chef Tre Wilcox is hosting the ultimate culinary smackdown to find out! The first ever North vs South Celebrity Chef Smackdown comes to Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts this October and Plano is invited to watch. Tre Wilcox has invited a chef from Plano and a chef from Dallas to compete to see who can make a more stunning dish out of a mystery basket of seasonal ingredients, both basics and wild cards. And they only have 45 minutes.
“Everyone loves competition,” Tre explained. “Everyone loves watching chefs compete and this is one I’m going to be hosting. It’s a cooking competition, it’s a smackdown. I just want to invite people to come out and watch it. I’ve got beer, I’ve got entertainment, I’ve got wine, I’ve got food from local restaurants—so I think it’ll be something!”
The judges will be Mayor Harry LaRosiliere and, Plano Profile Publisher Philip Silvestri. They will be scoring based on taste, creativity, presentation and use of the mystery ingredients.
Come out this October and watch two local chefs face off while sampling local restaurants. There will be jazzy live music courtesy of Royce Jonz Jaz, alongside wine, beer and cocktails … what more could you want? A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Make a Wish foundation. See who will take the prize live and in person at Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts!
