Local Chef Tre Wilcox who just opened Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine is now poised to launch his next venture—Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts. And it’s scheduled to open Monday, March 14.
Based in Plano, this unique, fully customizable event space is primed to host cooking classes, brand tastings, team building cooking competitions and more, as guests work with Chef Tre in a hands-on culinary environment.
At 3,200 square feet, the versatile space can be transformed to fit any occasion—from casual to formal—and can accommodate both intimate gatherings as well as private parties up to 150 people. Three 50-inch TVs can be utilized for presentations, there’s a full audio system for music and seminars and two microphones are available for speeches. Cable TV and high speed internet round out the audio/video capabilities to further equip every event. And once booked, Chef Tre and his team of special event professionals handle all the details, from décor, lighting and ambiance to dietary preferences and budget.
Cooking classes kick off March 14 and comprise an array of choices, including seafood demonstrations, hands-on Asian cooking and couples classes focused on Southwestern/Texas cuisine. The venue features four demonstration kitchens, chef’s tables and loads of ingredients to give guests the ultimate cooking experience. As for adult beverages, all guests may bring their own to enjoy on site. Classes start at just $75 and are two and a half hours long, unless otherwise specified, and those who sign up for the “hands-on” classes may bring a guest. And perhaps the best part: after each class, guests will take a seat to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
“This has been an extremely exciting time in my culinary career,” said Wilcox. “It represents more than two decades of hard work, and it embodies my love for food and cooking, as well as my desire to share those passions with others. With Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts, we’ll be offering immersive, instructional cooking classes with an emphasis on fun, and guests will leave here with real skills they can take back to their own kitchens.”
