La La Land Kind Cafe is honoring Foster Care Awareness Month with volunteering and donation opportunities through their philanthropic organization, the La La Land Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community through volunteering, mentoring and advocacy.
“From the beginning, La La Land was founded on spreading kindness in our community, and we are thrilled to launch the La La Land Foundation to continue this work,” said La La Land Kind Café founder Francois Reihani. “Tied to Foster Care Awareness Month we want to invite our guests to join us in volunteering their time and talents to brighten and enrich the lives of these deserving young adults.”
On Friday, May 2, all La La Land Kind Cafe locations will be celebrating “Blue Cup” Day by giving away a free, limited-edition blue reusable cup with each purchase of a signature beverage, while supplies last. From May 2 through May 12, 10% of all signature drink sales will be donated directly to the La La Land Foundation to benefit the La La Workforce Development and other initiatives.
The La La Workforce Development Program offers foster youth ages 16-24, who are transitioning out of the foster care system, a paid 12-week internship where they benefit from mentorship, job placement, assistance with college and career planning and access to mental health services. Guests looking to get involved in other ways can volunteer to make comfort kits at participating La La Land Kind Cafe locations linked here or donate via the La La Land Foundation Amazon Wish List, here. The La La Land Foundation is also taking applications for Mentors who will provide guidance, skill development empowerment and more for foster youth.
