North Texas Pumpkin Patch Guide

As the weather cools down, North Texans are looking for ways to celebrate fall. Whether you are looking for a family adventure or hoping to spice up your Instagram feed, North Texas is full of great pumpkin patches. 

Big Orange Pumpkin Farm 

When: Sept. 14 - Nov. 27
Where: 15102 TX-289, Gunter


Every year since 1997, thousands of visitors and school and church groups come to Preston Trail Farms to see small green pumpkins growing on the vine, enjoy hayrides, explore a 6-foot hay maze and visit a petting farm for a taste of country life. Located along the historic Shawnee Trail, this farm also offers fresh seasonal produce.

5G Farm Pumpkin Patch

When: Sept. 20 - Oct. 31
Where: 6601 County Road 166, McKinney


Pumpkin patch visitors can explore over 7,000 pumpkins and shop from more than 35 weekend vendors selling handcrafted items. Attractions include a 2-acre corn maze, a pallet maze for kids, tetherball and a petting zoo with goats. Guests can enjoy kettle corn, hand-squeezed lemonade, Texas barbecue and more.

Autumn At The Arboretum 

When: Sept. 21 – Nov. 3
Where: 8525 Garland Rd, Dallas

The 19th annual Autumn at the Arboretum, presented by Reliant, is back! With 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash from Floydada, Texas, plus 150,000 fall-blooming plants throughout the garden, this year’s Pumpkin Village theme is “Texas Town,” offering a glimpse into pioneer life in Texas.

The Pumpkin Patch at Sunset Trail Farm 

When: Sept. 27 - Oct. 27
Where: 1794 Sunset Trail, McKinney

This fall event offers a family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of fun, food and games. Visitors can choose the perfect pumpkin from a variety of options while enjoying hot apple cider or blackberry lemonade. There are also fall-themed photo spots for great pictures and the chance to pick a bouquet of flowers to take home.

Pumpkins On The Prairie 

When: Oct. 1 - Oct. 31
Where: 3521 Main Street, Frisco

Pumpkins on the Prairie is a free harvest festival with special activities planned all season. The only costs are for pumpkins, food truck items and craft night on Oct. 6, which has a $10 supply fee. Entry to the pumpkin patch is free, along with hayrides, bounce houses and face painting.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm 

When: Oct. 4 - Nov. 3
Where: 3420 Hall Johnson Road, Grapevine

Since the 1920s, this spot has offered plenty of pumpkins to pick from, plus farm animals, hayrides and hay bales will keep the kiddos entertained all day. The farm is also home to a 2-acre corn maze with stalks up to 9 feet tall. The real challenge is navigating it by flashlight after dark. The patch also has pumpkin displays for sale and fun photo spots with scarecrows and a vintage tractor.

Fritz Park Pumpkin Patch

When: Oct. 5 - Nov. 3
Where: 800 E Oakdale Rd, Irving

The Fritz Park Pumpkin Patch features a wide selection of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, while the petting zoo offers an interactive experience with many farm animals for everyone to enjoy. Entertainment options include pony rides, pig races, chickens carving pumpkins and much more. Visitors can tour the pumpkin patch and pick the perfect pumpkin, with all sizes priced at $10. A portion of the proceeds benefits Irving Animal Services.

NorthPark Pumpkin Patch 

When: Oct. 11 - Nov. 3
Where: 8687 N Central Expy, Dallas

The NorthPark Pumpkin Patch, created by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects and NorthPark's landscape team, offers fun fall experiences for North Texas families. Visitors can enjoy photo spots, hot apple cider, storytimes with Bookmarks Dallas Public Library and scavenger hunts.
