For the first time ever, Minecraft fans will can experience a real-world, immersive and interactive Minecraft adventure. In celebration of Minecraft’s 15th anniversary, Experience MOD and Mojang Studios have announced Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue.
Plano will be the first city to offer the experience.
This unique event will spawn for a limited time at 2712 N Central Expressway in Plano, on September 20, 2024, offering longtime fans, new players and families of all ages their first chance to become heroes in a live Minecraft quest. Plano is just the beginning; Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will continue to tour additional cities worldwide, with locations to be announced at a later date.
“We’re thrilled to introduce the first-ever immersive touring Minecraft experience where guests can follow a quest through the Minecraft Overworld in real life,” said Head of Franchise Development at Mojang Studios Kayleen Walters. “Finding ways for our community to express their love for Minecraft both in-game and out is always top of mind for us.”
Attendees will start their 1-hour journey by entering the forest, where they can learn the ropes, share tips with fellow players or simply enjoy the blocky nature. Moving into the village, they will receive their quest and join a team of fellow Minecrafters on a rescue mission.
This interactive scavenger hunt takes adventurers through multiple Minecraft biomes, where they will build structures and interact with iconic mobs — some friendly and others not. Participants will encounter pandas and dolphins, as well as face skeletons, spiders and — of course — Creepers. Upon completing their quest, they can relax and celebrate their heroic achievement at the Minecraft Experience Trading Post, taking home a crafty memento from the adventure.
Interested Minecrafters who want to be first to attend can join the waitlist starting May 29 at www.minecraftexperience.com. The waitlist will gain access to the exclusive presale starting May 31, and tickets go on sale to the general public June 3.
