Summer doesn’t have to mean hiding indoors with the AC blasting. When the heat sets in, there’s no better escape than the water.

Luckily, McKinney and Allen have you covered with everything from high-energy aquatic parks to calm, resort-style pools. Whether you’re looking for a spot where the kids can burn off energy, or a quiet place to kick back and relax, there’s something nearby that fits the vibe.

Here’s your guide to the best places to swim, splash, and stay cool this summer in McKinney and Allen.

During open swim hours, families can battle the inflatable dragon, conquer the rock wall and show off on the diving board.

The Apex Centre is a large, modern recreation facility offering a wide variety of aquatic activities. With four distinct pools, including options for lap swimming, leisure and play, guests have plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the water without the crowds.
