The 3rd annual FarmFest at the Heritage Farmstead Museum is this Saturday October 10th, a fun fall event for all the family!
The Heritage Farmstead Museum invites you to come and experience a “county fair” type atmosphere with a variety of exciting activities, as well as contests! They’ll be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons awarded for the best Hog Caller, Rooster Crower, Donkey Brayer, not to mention a tasty Pie Eating Contest! (Click here to pre-register for all the contests.)
Other exciting activities include:
- blacksmith demonstrations
- tours of the historic Farrell Wilson home
- hands on activities
- animal exhibits
- tractor rides
- live entertainment
- Special exhibits: Tractors and Hit ‘n Miss Engines from the Wylie Tractor Club
And last but certainly not least – Romulus and Remus: the Tallest Donkeys in the WORLD! Romulus stands at an impressive 17 hands high! (Hands are the standard unit of measure for horses, mules and donkeys. 1 hand equals 4 inches which makes Romulus 5 1/2 feet tall!)

Play the Five Star Ford Haystack Challenge for a chance to win a Ford F-150 for a weekend A $25 donation gets you a chance to find the “key” in the haystack – and give to a good cause, all proceeds will benefit the Farmstead’s Junior FFA program (whose purpose is to enhance and encourage the education of youngsters who are interested in the future of the agricultural industry.) But get there early because only 30 chances will be sold! (Participants must be 18 years old to enter.)
