Trinity Falls is rounding up a wagonload of fun for Rodeo on the River, 2-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23.
The public can mosey up to The Club at Trinity Falls, 7801 Trinity Falls Pkwy, for free activities including live music, trick roping, a petting zoo, pony rides, photo opportunities with a live steer and armadillo races. Proceeds from the event benefit ManeGait equine therapy in McKinney.
“Rodeo on the River gets bigger and better each year,” said Robert Ditthardt, general manager for Trinity Falls. “We’ve got some amazing musical acts, food trucks and activities – not to mention local wineries serving up tastes of their award-winning vintages. It’s just a great way to see Trinity Falls and experience life the way our residents do.”
McKinney’s own country music artist, Harper Grace, will take the stage — as will CMA Artist winner and Texas Country Music Hall of Famer Sonny Burgess. Grace performed last March on American Idol. Burgess has scored 11 top 10 hits on Texas country music charts.
Returning to belt out a mix of soulful country ballads and up-tempo honky-tonk tunes will be international country music sensation, Jolie Holliday, winner of Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year at the CMA Indie Awards.
Four food trucks will offer chow for purchase, including 2018 Texas Food Truck Showdown winner, Bite My Biscuit. The purveyor of buttermilk biscuit sandwiches won the Best Between the Buns award for its “CFS” Biscuit featuring chicken fried steak and creamy gravy.
Walt Garrison’s BBQ and Kona Ice also are slated to appear. A carnival-style truck will serve up corndogs, funnel cakes and more.
Adults 21+ can indulge in wine samples from Moonlight Ranch Winery. Full glasses of wine will be available for purchase, as will beer from Wild Acre Brewery. Proceeds will benefit ManeGait.
Visitors also will be able to take a carriage ride up to see Trinity Fall’s eight professionally decorated model homes, where they can register to win a new pair of Cavender’s boots worth $500.
Located just northwest of McKinney, the 2,000-acre community offers amenities such as a beach-entry pool, dog park, trails and events coordinated by a full-time lifestyle director. Homes are priced from the $300,000s.
