Visit Southfork Ranch, the legendary residence associated with TV’s Dallas, on April 8 to take part in a free solar eclipse viewing experience on the acclaimed Ewing Mansion lawn.
The Eclipse & Sip will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Southfork’s location in the heart of the totality, coupled with the lack of surrounding buildings, make it an ideal location to experience this rare astronomical occurrence.
Upon arrival, guests will have access to garden chairs and complimentary eclipse glasses. While outside food and beverage are not allowed at Eclipse & Sip, guests are welcome to order from a selection of $20 boxed lunches, including a choice of: BBQ brisket sandwich; grilled chicken sandwich; or pulled pork sandwich. Each entrée is served with a pickle spear, your choice of potato salad or potato chips and a chocolate chip cookie, as well as a soft drink or bottled water.
A full cash bar will be available throughout the day, and Southfork Ranch has designed a collection of specialty cocktails perfect for eclipse viewing. Specialty cocktails are $12 each and include: Solar Smash with bourbon, black raspberry liqueur, lime juice and fresh raspberries; Black Moon with vodka, mixed berry juice, aperitif, orange brandy, orange juice and club soda; and Ring of Fire with tequila, blood orange juice and lime juice.
Guests at the event will also have the opportunity to take discounted tours of Southfork Ranch for $14 on this day only. Admission for Eclipse & Sip is free, but RSVPs are required.
