The African Think Tank (TATT) will soon present the Ubuntu Gala, celebrating the vibrant diversity of African culture and heritage. The inaugural gala will be held at DHV Artworks Gallery on Nov. 16, 2024.

"Ubuntu," meaning I am, because we are, reflects the African philosophy of shared humanity and community. The Ubuntu Gala is designed to deepen appreciation and understanding of African cultures.

“For many individuals of African descent and friends of Africa, connecting with African heritage has often felt very distant and out of reach,” said Dr. Sidonie Niba, founder and CEO of The African Think Tank, in an official statement. “As the fastest-growing African diaspora organization in the U.S., we are thrilled to bring the culture of Africa to the D/FW area. It will be an inspiring evening of UBUNTU — celebrating culture, community and connections across all backgrounds.”

Event highlights include an African-inspired fashion show featuring stunning men's and women's collections from talented designers and local artisans. Guests will be captivated by the cultural and artistic diversity of Africa, with electrifying Afro Soul music and dynamic dance performances from Bandan Kora, the Bafut Cultural Dance Group, the Igbo Amaka Dance Group and more. Additionally, local Congolese artist Benj Kinenga will create a live painting during the event, available for purchase.

The gala will also include a VIP reception, live auctions, a paddle raise and gourmet African cuisine paired with signature cocktails. The evening will conclude with networking opportunities, encouraging connections and collaborations.

“I am excited to support the Ubuntu Gala,” said Grand Prairie Councilman and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Junior Ezeonu. “The African Think Tank has been a beacon of transformation for the African diaspora not just in Dallas/Fort Worth, but in cities across the United States.”

The Ubuntu Gala will take place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at DHV Artworks Gallery, located at 2835 Irving Blvd, Dallas. Guests are encouraged to wear Regal African or formal attire.

Ticket prices range from $125 to $300, with sponsorship opportunities still available. All proceeds will support The African Think Tank programs and initiatives. For more information, sponsorship inquiries or to purchase tickets, call 682-306-7936 or visit www.theafricanthinktank.com.
