Take Me Home Pet Rescue (TMHPR), a nonprofit organization based in Richardson, Texas, is gearing up for North Texas Giving Day 2024, an event that has become a cornerstone of its fundraising efforts. Scheduled for Sept. 19, this community-wide day of giving is vital to TMHPR’s mission of reducing homeless pet overpopulation in North Texas.
Focused on reducing the homeless pet population in Collin County, TMHPR offers essential services such as sterilization, microchipping and medical care before adoption. Each rescued pet is placed in a foster home, where they experience the love and care of a family while awaiting adoption.
North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour community-wide online fundraising event that allows individuals to contribute to charitable organizations. The program is administered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, which garnered $63.9 million raised through 97,132 donors benefiting 3,249 local nonprofits, bringing the fifteen-year total to over $566 million.
"North Texas Giving Day is the lifeblood of our organization," said Cagla Darveaux, TMHPR's communications contact in an official statement. "We rely on this annual event to provide the crucial financial support needed for the medical care of our cats and dogs."
With a long history of participation in North Texas Giving Day, TMHPR has raised significant funds to support its operations, including approximately $63,000 in the previous year alone. Serving Collin County and surrounding areas, the organization is committed to thorough vetting processes, including reference checks and home visits, to ensure that each pet is placed in a suitable, loving environment.
As TMHPR prepares for another year of giving, the organization is hopeful that the community’s generosity will continue to provide the resources needed to care for these animals.
