Prosper Leadership Appointed to Influential North Central Texas Boards

Prosper officials join influential boards

The town of Prosper recently announced the appointment of several key members of its leadership to regional boards within the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and the North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT9-1-1). 

According to the official statement, these appointments highlight Prosper’s increasing influence in regional governance and planning despite its smaller size relative to other regional cities. 

Prosper Mayor David Bristol will join the Executive Board of NCTCOG on July 1, 2024. This board is responsible for policy decisions affecting regional plans, fiscal policies and program activities. Mayor Bristol’s appointment positions Prosper at the forefront of regional policy-making.

Mayor Pro Tem Marcus Ray was appointed as the Alternate member of the Regional Transportation Council (RTC), representing multiple communities including Frisco, Prosper and Celina. Ray will assist in developing transportation plans and overseeing fund allocation. Additionally, he has been appointed to the Emergency Preparedness Planning Council (EPPC) to support regional emergency management efforts.

Mary Ann Moon, CEcD, FM, HLM, executive director of the Prosper Economic Development Corporation, was reappointed to the North Texas Economic Development Council (NTEDC). Moon’s role will involve advising on economic development strategies and program administration, reinforcing Prosper’s economic position.

Jeff Hodges, Prosper Town Council Member, continues to serve on the board of managers for NCT9-1-1, overseeing the emergency 9-1-1 system that supports over 40 centers in 14 counties. His involvement ensures effective emergency communication services for a vast region.

“Prosper’s strong representation across these influential boards ensures that the Town’s voice will be a critical part of the conversations shaping the future of North Texas,” reads the official statement.
