North Texas Disability Chamber Names First President & CEO

The North Texas Disability Chamber (NTXDC) recently announced the appointment of Dylan M. Rafaty as its first President & CEO. 

The NTXDC is a community-focused non-profit organization dedicated to education, advocacy and convening efforts across 28 counties in the greater North Texas region. Its mission is to lead the way in promoting accessibility, equity and disability inclusion in North Texas.

“The board is honored to welcome Dylan as the organization’s first President & CEO,”  said Board Vice Chair Kellie Best. “Dylan’s ability to be accessible, easy to communicate with and has a clear vision and commitment to represent the entire disability community.“

Rafaty, who founded the North Texas Disability Chamber in 2020, served as its chairman since its inception. During his tenure, Rafaty dedicated countless volunteer hours, introduced numerous new programs and raised over $100,000 to support year-round, high-quality accessible community events and initiatives throughout the region.

His mission is to enhance opportunities and improve the overall quality of life for all, which he achieves by introducing innovative ideas, forming strategic partnerships and building alliances to drive systemic change within communities and organizations.

Rafaty is a prominent influencer and disability rights activist dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities across Texas and the United States. With deep family roots and a lifelong commitment to cultural diversity, he is well known for his character, kindness and passion for people. 

Rafaty holds a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) certification from the National Diversity Council. He is also a special education graduate of Plano ISD, earned an A.A. from Collin College, a B.S. in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Phoenix and an M.A. in dispute resolution from Southern Methodist University. Currently residing in Frisco, Rafaty is pursuing an Ed.D in organizational change and leadership at the University of Southern California.
