With the holidays upon us, McKinney Main Street is inviting residents to keep the tradition alive by supporting the annual McKinney Christmas Tree - A Gift to the Community campaign.

This campaign aims to raise funds to bring a 35-foot frosted fir tree from Michigan to the heart of Historic Downtown McKinney, enhancing the festive charm that makes the city so special during the holidays.

Supported by corporate sponsor H-E-B, the campaign offers families and organizations the opportunity to be recognized at the tree display with a tax-deductible donation of $35. The first 150 donors contributing at least $35 will also receive a commemorative ornament as a token of appreciation for their contribution to the community.

“We are thrilled to continue this beloved tradition and bring the McKinney Christmas Tree to our community once again," Director of the McKinney Cultural District Andrew Jones said in an official statement. "The tree represents the joy that the holiday season brings, and we invite everyone to join us in making this year's tree the most spectacular yet."

This year, the holiday season officially begins in McKinney with the annual tree lighting ceremony of the frosted fir on Friday, Nov. 29, at 6:15 p.m. in Historic Downtown McKinney, located at 200 N. Kentucky St.

Donation information is available online at www.downtownmckinney.com. The McKinney Christmas Tree – A Gift to the Community campaign continues through Dec. 4.
