Cinnamon, a two-year-old American Pit Bull/Terrier mix, has found a safe haven to welcome her 10 puppies, complete with nourishing food and medical care at Carrollton-based Operation Kindness. Now, she needs a quiet, secure environment to nurse her babies until they can be adopted into loving homes.
Cinnamon arrived at Operation Kindness pregnant and was transferred from a shelter partner who recognized her need for special care. Shortly after her arrival, she gave birth to her puppies. During her time at Operation Kindness’ facility in Carrollton, Cinnamon has benefited from medical supervision at the shelter’s Rees-Jones Foundation Medical Wing.
Cinnamon was part of a transfer involving 38 dogs and cats from the city of Laredo Animal Services. Operation Kindness has exhausted its usual resources in searching for a foster home for Cinnamon and her puppies and is reaching out to the public for help in finding a calm space where this tired mom can rest and recover.
Now, anyone can start fostering — no experience required. Foster applications are available on the Operation Kindness website. Fosters receive round-the-clock support from staff, and all medical needs are covered at the on-site animal hospital.
In August 2024, Operation Kindness took in 528 animals, with 90% being transferred from local municipal shelters. Operation Kindness has animals available for adoption at its Carrollton shelter, as well as at its Everyday Adoption Center at PetSmart and Cat Adoption Centers at PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus locations across the Dallas area.
