Country music is coming to Collin County in a big way. Just one day before the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, the spotlight will swing a few miles east to Plano.

On May 7, the Grand Ole Opry’s NextStage Live from Texas concert returns to Legacy Hall in Plano — and it just added a major name to the lineup. Multi-platinum artist and six-time ACM nominee Riley Green will take the stage as a special guest, joining a packed roster of rising stars and hosted by none other than Jelly Roll, the three-time ACM nominee and genre-blending artist who’s become one of country’s most recognizable names.

Country’s New Class Gets The Spotlight

The free-spirited Southern singer behind hits like “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and “Different ‘Round Here,” Green is no stranger to the Opry stage. He was part of the very first Opry NextStage class in 2019 and now returns with even more hardware in sight, including nominations at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards, which take place just one day later in Frisco.

In addition to Green, fans will get a first look at the Opry NextStage Class of 2025, including Avery Anna, Chayce Beckham, Dasha, Kaitlin Butts, Kashus Culpepper, Tigirlily Gold and Tucker Wetmore. All of them are set to perform live at the Lexus Box Garden beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Presented by Tecovas, the event is now in its third year and has become a signature kickoff to ACM Awards week. Tickets are available now through opry.com/nextstage.

Why It Matters

Opry NextStage has a great track record. Graduates have gone on to earn major industry awards, multiple chart-topping singles and even Grand Ole Opry membership — Lainey Wilson made history as the first alum to be inducted.

And the numbers add up: past artists have earned 33 No. 1 hits and spent 43 weeks topping country radio.

For country music fans in North Texas, it’s a rare chance to see some of the genre’s future stars in an intimate setting — plus two of its biggest names in Riley Green and Jelly Roll, all just steps from Frisco’s ACM main stage.
