Mic Drop Comedy, a boutique club founded in San Diego in 2022, acquired Plano House of Comedy at 7301 Lone Star Dr. in Plano. Soon, the venue will undergo a full remodel with new themes, performances and more.
What To Expect
Guests will experience floor-to-ceiling hand-painted murals inspired by Disney’s Robin Hood, created by California muralists Carly Ealey and Christopher Konecki. The venue will feature graffiti art throughout, including a hyper-realistic animal mural behind the bar, stained glass windows, wood carvings, and a massive storybook door leading to the fictional towns of Nottingham and Sherwood Forest. The restaurant will serve American cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails.
The stage design reflects the theme of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, with 3-D bows, arrows, and English flags. Bathrooms will resemble a forest oasis, and the green room will offer performers a secluded, rustic tree-house atmosphere.
Future Shows And Experiences
Mic Drop Comedy Plano aims to promote diversity and inclusion by featuring a variety of comedians and performances that highlight these values. Upcoming headliners include Ms. Pat, Kevin Nealon, Preacher Lawson, Alfred Robles and more.
The venue will host 90-minute shows Wednesday through Sunday, alongside themed events, social media giveaways, and comedy classes for all ages. A six-week children’s comedy course, led by industry professionals, will culminate in a live performance.
