4 ways to celebrate National Tequila Day in Plano

National Tequila Day Plano 2016

Lick, slam, suck. That’s how you take a tequila shot.

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor-ed. This may be you on National Tequila Day on Sunday, July 24.

(If so, be responsible. Get a Lyft or Uber and make it to work on time Monday morning.)

It’s time to become a tequila tippler if even only for a day. I mean, it’s basically a Texas state holiday. So, we’ve pulled four Plano restaurants for you to celebrate special prices on tequila sips, shots and cocktails:

Tequila lovers unite at Mi Dia From Scratch Plano with specials such as sipping tequila flights at three price levels of $5, $8 and $10, as well as 25% off of extra-añejo tequila full-ounce and half-ounce shots. Although you can enjoy taking down these flights, don’t forget about Mi Dia From Scratch’s impressive “Tequila Tower,” consisting of more than 120 tequilas. They also have on-tap tequila—you heard that right. And instead of limes, they use lemons due to the consistent flavor profile and year-round freshness.

Take your celebration from “good” to “grande” at On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina with $3 house margaritas, or shots of El Jimador or Patron Silver. Step it up a notch and be extra fancy with a $6 Signature Herradura Tequila Cocktail made with Herradura® Silver tequila, orange juice, mango syrup, sweet & sour, Sprite, and garnished with an orange wheel; the final ingredient is a name of your choosing.

Get to Plano’s Mexican Sugar to partake in the fun featuring a week-long celebration (oops, sorry about the late notice, but you’ve still got three days). Mexican Sugar is offering three premium tequilas (Casa Dragones Blanco, Milagro Single Barrel Reposado & Casamigos Añejoat); at $9 sip on them, or make them a premium marg for $13. Can’t decide on which tequila? Taste ’em all as a $12 flight.

No joke. Blue Mesa is almost handing out tequila. $2 house margaritas ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday. They like to party.

Remember: If you’re going to take a straight tequila shot, do so like this: 1. lick the salt 2. take down the shot of tequila 3. suck the lime. And you’re set! Good luck on National Tequila Day 2016!
